Light up the sky

Tonight is Bonfire night in the UK. The night we commemorate
the capture of Guy Fawkes in 1605 and the foiling of
the gunpowder plot.

This year we went to a local organised display and
the fireworks were amazing.

We had our traditional Bonfire night meal of
Bangers and mash before we left.
and on our return we had toffee apples.

The weather was a little damp tonight, so I am
sure the firework celebrations will continue
into the weekend.
If you are having a Firework party or are going to a
display this weekend, then follow the firework code
and stay safe.

The Original Bucks Fizz make a splash !

Friday night sees the last gig of The Original Bucks Fizz on
The Splash Tour at The Corn Exchange in Kings Lynn.

During the tour we have been to see them twice, in Stoke and
in Blackpool. The group have worked hard to put on a fantastic
show. The set list included most of the Fizz classics including
some reworkings ( I hear talk and If you can't stand the heat)
Other highlights for me were openning the show with
New Beginning, then later Golden Days, Magical and
the Fizz medley. The show was enhanced by a backdrop
projection using edited versions of old Bucks fizz videos
and pictures. The show ended with classics The land of
make believe and Making your mind up.

I made my own t shirt to wear at the gigs
with sparkly crystals

After each gig the group come out to meet
the fans and sign autographs.
Heres me having my programme signed
by Jay in Stoke
and with Mike and Cheryl
sorry these are a bit fuzzy

Lanterns light the way for Trick or Treaters

We had dozens of Trick or Treaters tonight. We ran out of
sweets for the last group of callers and had to give them some
change to go and buy some sweets. Its a real family atmosphere in
our neighbourhood on Halloween night and all our visitors were
accompanied by their parents and everyone said thank you.
We lit the way to our front door with some paper bag lanterns
with jack o lantern faces.

Happy Halloween to all the readers of our Blog.

How about this for a huge Pumpkin ?

This giant pumpkin is one that is grown by Ribble Farms in
Lancashire for Charity events. It is currently on display at
The Dalmeny Hotel in St Annes Lancashire. Hotel guests are
being invited to guess its weight before it was carved and to
give a donation to charity. The weight will be revealed on
Sunday and the correct entry will win a free weekend at
the hotel.
