In Search Of Snow

We still have no snow here on The Fylde Coast, so today we
drove up to Cumbria to try and find some. It has been a crisp
sunny day and to be honest most of the snow on the ground had
already melted, but as you can see from the following photos the
hills and mountains are still garnished with plenty of the white stuff.

We took the old Blue Peter sledge with us just in case, but not enough
snow to be able give it a run for old times sake. Dad made the sledge
for my brother and I back in the 1980's and we often had lots of fun
in the local park during the Winter months.

Here is a picture of the Blue Peter sledge today in the Dajon Garden.
John Noakes first made a sledge on Blue Peter in the 1960's and then
following lots of snow in the Winters of 1982 and 1983 Simon Groom
and Peter Duncan showed viewers how to make the famous sledge
again. It was also featured on the cover of Blue Peter book 21 published
in 1984.
