Now that the warmer evenings are here, one of the things we
enjoy doing is sitting in the dajon garden with a glass of wine
or a coffee and watch the pipistrelle bats swooping by, catching
insects. I did try to take a picture of them, but they are just too
fast.
Here are some pipistrelle facts :-
Pipistrelles are the smallest and commonest bat in the UK.
They live for about 15 years.
They eat small insects, a single pipistrelle can consume around
3,000 insects in one night.
They are fast and agile flyers and fly around 5-10 meters above
the ground.
They hibernate from mid November to early April.
